What Has This Year Taught You?
By this point in December, the pace looks different for everyone. Some are beginning to wind down, wrapping up loose ends and shifting their focus toward the holidays. Others are still pushing, working through year-end goals and planning for what’s ahead. No matter where you find yourself in that rhythm, this is a natural time to pause and reflect. Before the year closes, it’s worth asking not just what you accomplished — but what this year has taught you.
Every year brings lessons, whether we take the time to notice them or not. Some are easy to spot — new skills, clear wins, changes you can measure. Others are more subtle. You may have learned how to stay focused in uncertainty, how to lead with more patience, or how to protect your energy when things felt overwhelming. Not all progress is loud. Some of the most meaningful growth happens quietly, without applause.
Taking the time to reflect doesn’t mean dissecting every decision. It means giving yourself the space to observe the patterns. Where did you grow stronger this year? What challenged you? What stretched your perspective? These answers don’t always lead to immediate action, but they offer something even more valuable — clarity. When you understand how you’ve changed, it’s easier to move forward with intention.
This year may have included unexpected detours, difficult conversations, or goals that didn’t unfold as planned. That doesn’t mean the year was wasted. Some of the most important lessons come from the seasons that felt uncertain or slow. You showed up. You adjusted. You kept going. That in itself is evidence of growth, even if it doesn’t show up on a scoreboard.
Before you begin mapping out what’s next, give yourself the gift of understanding what this year gave you. Not just in terms of outcomes, but in awareness — about your values, your habits, your leadership, and your capacity. These insights form the foundation for everything that comes next. Don’t leave them behind in your rush to start again.
The year is almost over, and before it slips by, it’s worth taking a moment to recognize what truly mattered — not just the goals you reached, but the growth you experienced along the way. Make space to name what challenged you, what changed you, and what carried you through. These lessons weren’t always loud, and they may not be easy to articulate, but they have shaped the way you lead, work, and live. Let those insights carry weight as you move forward, because lasting growth doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes, it’s steady, quiet, and deeply personal — but it’s what makes the next chapter stronger.
The Josh Drop
Quiet Months Build Loud Results
There is something about this time of year that can make the quiet feel heavier than usual. Teams slow down, prospects delay decisions, and engagement naturally dips. Even when you have stayed consistent, it can seem as if the energy you are putting in is not giving much back. This is often when doubt tries to settle in, especially when activity slows and results take longer to appear. What is easy to overlook is that many of your most meaningful breakthroughs begin in the quieter months when you continue moving forward while others pause.
The decisions you make now, when the pace is slower and the conversations are fewer, create the kind of foundation that real momentum depends on. This business grows through steady effort layered over time. December is one of the strongest months to lean into that principle. Results may not be immediate, yet the seeds you plant now settle deep into the soil, preparing to surface as the new year gains speed.
Quiet effort is not wasted effort. When you follow up, join the weekly Zoom calls, or check in with someone you have not heard from in a while, you reinforce your belief in the business and in yourself. You also show your team what consistent leadership looks like, even when the spotlight is not on.
If the season feels silent, keep moving. Consistency in moments like these shapes the momentum you will carry into the new year. Your steady effort today will become the belief someone else leans on tomorrow and the reason your business begins the next chapter already in motion.
So let me ask you—what part of your truth are you holding back because it doesn’t feel big enough? And what might happen if you shared it anyway?

Building Together as Partners
Building a business is powerful on its own, but building it together can change everything. David and Adela understand firsthand the strength that comes from running a business with your spouse, aligning vision, values, and daily effort toward a shared future. When partners move in the same direction, the business gains clarity, consistency, and resilience.
